Attorney Elizabeth “Liz” Dalzell was recently published in the Spring 2021 edition of the South Carolina Association for Justice’s publication, The Justice Bulletin.
Drawing from a recent experience in one of her cases, Liz addressed what happens when a UIM carrier fails to appear within thirty days of being served as required by S.C. Code Ann. § 38-77-160. She examined the statutory language and explained how she proceeded since the statute does not clearly address the consequence of a carrier's late appearance.
