Every year in the US, there are thousands of children who are injured in burn accidents. While these accidents are unfortunate, many burn injuries are preventable. In this video, South Carolina child injury lawyer Kenneth E. Berger talks about some simple ways to prevent burns.
Mr. Berger explains that there are several things that parents or caretakers can do to prevent these painful injuries:
1. When a stove or oven is hot, make sure that children are supervised. The leading cause of home fires is cooking equipment. In fact, the kitchen is the location of the highest number of burns.
2. Teach your children that candles are attractive, but are equally dangerous. Many home fires are started by candles.
3. Set a good example and practice firework safety. This can be done by setting clear rules for you children to follow when you are setting off fireworks.
