This year, we were proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) event Walk Like MADD Upstate, where there was a great turnout of people looking to do their part to end impaired driving. Along with the walk, there were moving speakers, as well as beautiful memorials to honor the many children, parents, siblings, and other close family members who were killed by drunk drivers.
MADD’s mission is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking. It is the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to ending driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and providing support to victims of these acts.
Walk Like MADD is their signature fundraising event which raises funds, support, and awareness for fighting against driving under the influence and resources for individuals who have suffered loss or trauma because of it. With over 7,500 participants, MADD raises money with each step to help accomplish their goals of ridding the streets of drunk or drugged drivers and provides more support to those who need it.
This year’s Walk Like MADD Upstate event raised more than $90,000 to help eliminate drunk driving in our state. We are proud to partner with such an incredible organization whose mission is so closely aligned to our own: to seek justice in our community by protecting the lives, rights and dignity of those who have been harmed.
